Liberty Half Eagle
This $5 gold denomination is called a Half Eagle. It is the Coronet Type, referring to the ornamental band worn around Ms. Liberty�s head. In particular, this variety features the motto "In God We Trust" above the eagle. Designed by Christian Gobrecht, the precious metal content is 8.36 gm. of 900 fine gold.
